Islamabad – Hunza
Fly from Islamabad to Gilgit by PIA; enjoy the scenery of the Himalayan and Karakoram mountains,
particularly of Nanga Parbat (the 2nd highest in Pakistan, known as the killer mountain). Upon arrival,
meet & greet and proceed to Hunza from Gilgit airport. The 120 km adventurous journey along the most
fascinating section of the Karakoram Highway is dotted with some of the unique mountain sceneries,
monuments including the Danyore suspension bridge and Chinese graveyard, Memorial monument in
Rahimabad, remnants of ancient Silk Route, Collision point of continental Plates, Rakaposhi View Point,
Petroglyps, tunnels, and terraced valleys and overshadowing mountains. Besides, the organic traditional
food and fresh fruits are an added attraction. Upon arrival in Hunza, transfer to Hotel Luxus Grand at
Attabad Lake for check in. Evening at leisure.
Morning, check out from hotel and drive for Gulmit and Passu valley excursion. The sceneries of Passu
Cathederals – while driving on the bridge connecting Shishkat and Gulmit valley – Husseni suspension
bridge and Borith Lake are simply captivating. Enjoy the breathtaking views of Passu Glacier, Batura
Glacier, Husseni Suspension Bridge and Borith Lake. Rturn to hotel Roomy’s Dastaan in Karimabad for
overnight stay.
After breakfast, visit the majestic 700 years old Baltit Fort standing on the top of the valley with a
guarding view of the entire Hunza and Nagar valleys providing a scenic view of surrounding mountains
from the rooftop. Visit the 800 years old Altit fort poised on the sheer 1000 ft cliff on the verge of the
valley. Both the forts were built by the Balti masons came as the dowry of Shah Khatun – the then bride of
one of the rulers. The Kha Basi Café is a renowned restaurant on the premises of the fort providing
traditional food which is a recommended place for food lovers. Drive up to Duikar viewpoint and enjoy
the scenic bird’s eye views of the entire Hunza and Nagar valleys.
After breakfast drive to Hoper Valley which is a lush green vale with fruit orchards bordered by the
confluence of Kepal glacier and Barpu glacier serving as a launching pad for some of the famous treks
known as the Rush Lake trek and Golden Peak trek. One can have scenic views of all the Karakoram
peaks over Hunza valley. The Kepal peak viewpoint is an ideal spot to enjoy the scenery of mountains
and glaciers below. Drive back to the Hunza Valley for lunch; en-route visit the 1000 years old Ganish
settlement and the architecture of Ganish Mosques. Proceed to Gilgit Serena for an overnight stay.
Proceed to Gilgit airport for onward flight to Islamabad. End of services.
