The curve-shaped Neelum Valley extending about 200 km north and northeast of Muzaffarabad District is a gorge seizing ultimate scenic beauty. The Neelum Valley is a major tourist attraction of Azad Kashmir presenting panoramic views of scenic valleys, lush green terraced fields, soaring hills guarding both sides of the gushing Neelum River, glittering colorful roves of traditional houses, suspension bridges, thriving green forests, streams, and waterfalls, and high altitude serene lakes. The entire Neelum valley runs almost parallel to the Kaghan valley and is only separated by over 4000m mountain range. The valley is dominated by “Sarwaali Peak” (6326 meters), the high mountain in Azad Kashmir.
