Nanga Parbat (8,126m) – the 9th highest in the world and 2nd highest in Pakistan – is a world-famous mountain in the Himalayan range of Pakistan notoriously known as the Killer Mountain. Fairy meadows, as does the name suggest, at 3100 m altitude is a magnificent campsite covered in pine trees and is a launching pad for trekkers and excursionists. Fairy Meadows provides the best views of Nanga Parbat and surrounding peaks. The 12 km road track from the Karakoram Highway to Tatto is considered most daring while the rest of the 5 km mule trail hike to Fairy Meadows is adventurous enough. The walking trail from Fairy Meadows to the basecamp of Nanga Parbat is adventurous and provides stunning views of Nanga Parbat with annexing mountain peaks and of Raikot Glacier.
