Overview
Baisakhi/Veisakhi Mela, marking the birth of Sikh faith, spring harvest festival, and New Year day – all rolled into one – will be celebrated on 12, 13 and 14 April at Panja Sahib near Islamabad, Pakistan. This major festival draws in thousands of Sikh pilgrims, from around the world along with Sikhs from Pakistan. This day has a special significance because the tenth and the last Guru – Guru Gobind Singh organized the Sikhs into Khalsa or the “pure ones” to eliminate social differences and establish equality for all humans. This week-long tour is focused on visits to numerous Gurdwaras and historical sites in Punjab.
