Hunza Valley & Naltar

Itinerary

Fly from Islamabad to Gilgit airport in the morning and proceed to Hunza along the KKH with stopovers at the Chinese Graveyard, Memorial monument, the Collision point of continental plates, Rakaposhi view point and several other scenic attractions on the way. Although it is a 3-4 hrs journey to Hunza but with number of picturesque spots on the way may cause to take short breaks; it may take almost most of the day to reach Hunza. Upon arrival, transfer to hotel in Hunza for check in. Evening drive up to Duikar sunrise/sunset point for a bird’s eye view of Hunza Valley and the majestic mountain peaks surrounding the Hunza and Nagar Valleys. Return to hotel for overnight stay.

Visit the two ancient forts – Baltit Fort (700 years old fort with commanding view of entire Hunza and Nagar Valleys) and Altit Fort (800 years old poised on the edge of Altit valley), and explore local market. Overnight stay at hotel in Hunza.

Morning, after breakfast, visit the Hoper valley in Nagar for a half day excursion. Hoper is famous for its apricot orchard, lush green fields, views of Golden Peak & Kepal Peak, and for views of glaciers and mountain peaks in Hunza valley. On the way back, proceed towards Attabad Lake and check in at the hotel at Attabad / Gulmit. Afternoon visit Husseni Suspension Bridge and Borith Lake, and return to hotel for overnight stay. Early return will allow time for boating in Attabad Lake.

Khunjerab is the highest metal border crossing connecting Pakistan with China at 4700m. The road to Khunjerab pass is decked with natural attractions including views of Passu cathedrals, Gulmit Valley, Husseni Valley, and Passu Valley, Sost town, towering mountains along the highway, glaciers, bridges, and tunnels made by the Chinese. The Khunjerab border itself serves as one of the national Parks filled with rare flora and fauna, particularly for housing the rare blue mountain sheep and the snow leopard. It is a rewarding full day excursion for adventure enthusiasts and nature lovers. Return to hotel for overnight stay. Returning

The Naltar valley is a serene pastureland and winter ski resort located at about 19 km from KKH, about 20km short of Gilgit while travelling from Hunza. The gushing glacier water, pine pasture slopes, walking trails, mountain peaks and hills, Satrangi Lake and local Gujjar tribes are the major attractions. Explore Naltar valley and stay for overnight stay.

Enjoy the first half of the day at Naltar and drive back to Gilgit. Upon arrival, transfer to Hotel in Gilgit for check in and overnight stay.

Morning, after breakfast, transfer to Gilgit airport and fly onwards to Islamabad. Enjoy the jaw dropping mountain sceneries during the flight. Upon arrival at Islamabad airport, transfer to home. End of services.
