Itinerary
Fly from Islamabad to Gilgit and Proceed to Hunza with lunch preferably on the way at Rakaposhi View Point. The 100 km long section of the Karakoram Highway from Gilgit to Hunza is crowned with a number of attractions including Chinese graveyard in Danyore, Memoria Tower in Rahimabad, Collision point of continental plates in Chalt, remains of the silk route, Rakaposhi view point, and several picturesque valleys dotted along the bank of Hunza River. Upon arrival, transfer to hotel in Hunza.
Morning visit Duikar sunrise point for a bird’s eye view of the Huza and Nagar valleys surrounded by famous mountain peaks including Rakaposhi, Diran, Golden Peak, Ultar Peak, and Lady Finger. Return to Altit valley to visit Altit Fort and annexing Shiqam wood carving project where only women carpenters produce high class products made of wood. There is a restaurant called the Kha Basi Café in the premises of Altit Fort where pure traditional food is served by only female staff in case of making plans to enjoy traditional Hunza Food. Afterwards, visit Baltit Fort in Karimabad and explore local Market. Overnight stay at Hunza.
Hoper is an ideal autumn destination. Drive to Hoper valley, across the Hunza River, for day excursion. Hoper is about 18 km from Hunza valley and takes around an hour to reach to the end of the valley. Hoper is famous for its lush valleys filled with fruit laden trees providing a magnificent color contrast. The valley provides a picturesque view of highest mountains in Hunza. Hunza and Nagar are situated on either sides of the Hunza River and ideally the beauty of Hunza can be seen from Nagar and vice versa. Drive back to Gulmit for overnight stay.
Morning drive up to Borith Lake, enjoy the sceneries and walk/drive to the nearby Husseini village and Gulkin Village. One can also visit nearby Kamaris village for breathtaking bird’s eye views of valleys
below and Attabad Lake. Drive down to Husseini suspension bridge after lunch and proceed to hotel for overnight stay.
At 4,733 meters, Khunjerab Pak-China border, located in the premises of Khunjerab National Park, is the highest metal border crossing between Pakistan and China. The journey begins with the magnificent views of Passu cones and all the way to the border is simply rewarding. The unusual beauty of tiny
valleys along the Hunza River, all the way to Sost, displaying colorful autumn and guarded by the snow crowned Karakoram mountain peaks, present an ultimate natural contrast. Return to Hotel in Gulmit for overnight stay.
Morning drive from Hunza to Gilgit. After lunch, visit Bagrot valley located at about 35 km from Gilgit. Bagrot is famous for the variety of trees showcasing the real autumn foliage. Enjoy the trip and return to hotel for overnight stay
